DC Does Drag
The High Heel Race is an annual event that draws thousands to the Dupont Circle neighborhood for a drag extravaganza. Scores of contestants don their most outrageous frocks, wigs, and heels (only cheaters wear pumps) to run the three-block race down 17th Street. Several days later, DC's most fabulous queens compete to be crowned Miss Adams Morgan in a contest that requires creativity, talent, charisma, and just plain chutzpah.
