Ephemerism is an art movement with 43 million practitioners, mostly on other planets.
You make Ephemerist art when the spirit moves you, wherever you happen to be,
with whatever materials are at hand — materials never intended for the making of art.
Ephemerism happens out of doors and in public spaces — yes, Ephemerism happens!
— in natural and urbanized environments.
When the Ephemerist artwork is finished, it's recorded by a camera or by other means
for the enjoyment of those who couldn't be present at its creation.
Then, in one of the holiest moments of Ephemerism, the artwork is left
to the elements, to chance, to acts of desecration!
An Ephemerist artwork is like a little silver fish that appears for a moment and then
is gone, only bigger, usually.
Ephemerism detests the sham of an "artwork" that's bought and sold like a peach,
or like a shoehorn — although you sometimes get a free, plastic shoehorn
when you buy expensive shoes.
Down with art whose father is Money and whose mother is Ego!
Down with art that doesn't just happen!
Down with art where you most expect it!
Down with art that stays where you put it!
